Les Voix
Questa serie fotografica nasce nel settembre 2024, da un esperienza di residenza artistica in Gaspésie, una regione del Quebec, Canada. Una serie di ricerche ed un appello pubblico, mi hanno portata a raccogliere e reinterpretare materiali d’archivio e fotografie d’epoca appartenenti agli abitanti della Baia des Chaleurs. Grazie ad il contributo letterario della scrittrice e poetessa France Cayouette, l’opera si è rafforzata diventando un vero e proprio progetto corale.
Les Voix (le voci) si può definire un progetto dove il territorio diventa eco e specchio di una umanità che ritorna, ciclica, a parlarci di memoria attraverso la congiunzione tra passato e presente.
This photographic series was created in September 2024, during an artist residency on the Gaspé Peninsula (Quebec, Canada).
Through research and a public appeal, I collected and reinterpreted a series of vintage photographs belonging to the inhabitants of Baie des Chaleurs. Thanks to France Cayouette’s literary contribution the work was strengthened, becoming a true choral project.
Les Voix (the voices) can be defined as a project where the territory becomes an echo and mirror of a humanity that returns, cyclically, to speak to us of memory through the conjunction of past and present.
quand les bernaches
quittent les villages
avec de grands morceaux
de réel
il est plus difficile
de se poser en soi-même
sans frôler les rebords
nous colmatons la mémoire
la même journée que nos maisons
nous portons le lointain à la taille
tentons de redresser l’axe du mystère
d’un discret mouvement de hanches
il ne suffit pas
de prolonger les lignes du corps
pour trouver le point de fuite
nous déposons des galets
dans les berceaux
